Sony Ericsson Z500a Phone: So much to like this phone
i wanted so much to like this phone.

i bought this Sony Ericsson Z500a Phone on ebay for any staggering $270 (included shipping and all that). dui attorney las vegas may ask? well, don't ask. i believed it was cool. i wanted the phone, but didn't need to switch to cingular (i am a at&t customer). so, i purchased this phone, tucked my SIM card in and i am good to go. this is the pros and disadvantages so far:

pros:

1 . excellent call quality, but that would rely on your area, plan, insurance coverage, etc. people can hear me excellent, and i can notice them fine, plus isn't that really
what it's all about?
* speakerphone is a great one. very nice. no claims from friends to adopt them off it.
* menus are usually pretty intuitive. that's, if you've worked with the sony ericsson phone prior to.
* address guide is very thorough and you could store a lot of information each contact.
* topics are a neat thought.
* the options (zoom capability, brightness, special effects) for your digital camera are cool, but see under.
* phone includes a nice solid think when opening and closing a flip.
* replacement for record a sound after which use it as a ringer is cool!

cons:

* VGA camera can be horrible! i know, i am aware, it's a camera Cell phone, not a phone Video camera. however, the images are the worst i've seen. do not know if the camera is absolutely that bad, or the display is just not that good, but yeah, don't count on taking nice, clear photos on this phone, or whatever remotely close to good.
* inside monitor display is "fuzzy". case a sony ericsson point, i've heard. the shades and clarity of your screen are delicate. i think SE can this to conserve battery life. kind of hard to see items on the screen in direct sunlight, or if you're definitely not looking at it just correct.
* screen won't make use of space readily available. poor design in SE's part.
* out there games through panasonic ericsson's site are lacking with number and fascination. maybe 'cause this telephone is new. only several games available to get a hold of and none of them engaged me.
* cell phone only comes with 6 or 8 ring-tons. HUH?! 7 or even 8? that's just simply unheard of. not too many you'll be able to download from SE's web-site, either.
* not any bluetooth or infrared.
* battery life will be NOWHERE NEAR the Ten hrs/250 hrs (talk/standby) it affirms on SE's website. even if it's just close. talk time could possibly be 3-4 at best.

your "eh, it could go possibly way":

* phone can be kind of bulky. strangely reminds me of a giant, silver maxi-pad when it's amenable. you may or may not like this.
* vinyl parts on the mobile phone feel cheap. anyone commented that the phone "felt like a toy". the idea kinda does, actually. the finish on the plastic-type doesn't look smooth at all, but rather matte and really can make it look like a low-budget cellphone. it almost looks like this was a model phone and the things i got isn't the ultimate model! just a "draft". it isn't very stylish or refined.

this cell phone seems like it's rich in really cool stuff, plus in some ways, it is. your specs on this mobile phone are pretty spectacular when you look at all of them. but, you have to ask yourself if you're the kind of person that's going to use all these characteristics. are you going to send videos through MMS? are you going to hear streaming audio via your phone? do you want ringtones and designs and games (if so, this really isn't phone for you).

summing up, this phone isn't worth the money. it's really a good phone with many cool bells and whistles, but it is not worth anything over $175, period.
